Our Unique Approach

Our Unique "Sister Care" Model

"COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST"

- MATTHEW 11:28

The O'Connell House provides a Sister Care model by offering a safe place in which caregivers can provide a loving, nurturing presence to help victims become survivors.

Our 24/7 Sister Caregivers are trained in trauma-informed care, avoiding re-traumatizing triggers and care experiences through awareness of victim triggers. They ensure the physical and emotional safety of our women and children while maintaining their inherent dignity.

For the Sisters, this is a long-term commitment to a mission in which they form local communities to support one another in their difficult work and to strengthen their sense of unity. These Sisters are assigned to the U.S. and provided with the training to work with these young women.

To fully grasp the transformative power of the sister-care model, we invite you to explore this insightful documentary video. Witness firsthand how this approach is changing lives and shaping a brighter future for survivors of human trafficking.

Healthcare Training

As part of its human trafficking healthcare training arm at the United Nations, Global Strategic Operatives (GSO) has worked with local healthcare systems, government agencies, non-profit organizations, local law enforcement, the FBI, and social service organizations on the program’s establishment.

The O’Connell House, within GSO, provides immediate assistance to women identified in a hospital setting or rescued by law enforcement.

Local healthcare sites should be trained to identify survivors and provide them with community resources to help them find safety and restoration.

Collaborative resources

A coalition of local law enforcement agencies, local health care systems, Global Strategic Operatives, Homeland Security, and the FBI will partner with The O’Connell House to identify victims and provide direct services to them.
